BIBC 2021: Coronavirus Update

Due to ongoing concerns with COVID-19, we are moving the BIBC to Spring/Summer of 2021. We are hopeful that we will be able to hold the competition in person, and that we’ll be able convene our panel of trade buyer judges in the same room for a lively discussion about this year’s crop of excellent products.

However, we are remaining open to the possibility that our judges may not feel comfortable gathering together, and also that the German Government may continue to impose restrictions on gatherings. We of course intend to comply fully with any government directives, and to make sure that our judges feel safe and comfortable participating in our event.

To that end, we have developed a virtual tasting format that we are fully prepared to implement, should the need arise. We have successfully executed virtual beer, wine and spirits competitions in New York, Melbourne, and Hong Kong in 2020, and we are confident that we can bring this innovative process to Berlin if the situation warrants it.
